Up Close With Louisville Ky Own Baby Loc
Recording artist Baby Loc grew up in the streets of Louisville, KY and at the age of 16 Andre Maddox produced her first album “Locs On Top”. She began pushing the album by performing at small venues to build her fan base. Her buzz began to spread through the city and caught the attention of other producers, promoters, DJs, and the local media. Percy Powell the CEO of Powell Records soon thereafter offered Baby Loc another production deal and together they put out her sophomore album “Triple Threat”. People began to take notice and she was featured in The Courier Journal and on the front cover of Velocity. She was also nominated as Kentucky’s best female artist two years in a row at the Kymp Kamp DJ Awards.
Baby Loc collaborated with Nappy Roots’ member B-Stilles on “Turn This Up” and began working with their producer Hopp. They created one of the biggest underground albums in Louisville and released the summer smash single “Real Chic” which was immediately put in rotation on Kentucky’s B96.5fm. She has an amazing stage presence and has toured opening for rap artist such as Twista, Murphy Lee, Trina, Lloyd Banks, Ti, Jeezy, Ghetto Boys, and Young Dro just to name a few. Baby Loc is currently working with Tim Blacksmith who has produced for Lil Troy (Wanna Be a Balla), Paul Wall, Cadillac Don, J Money, Jodie Floyd, and several artists in the Texas and Mississippi area. “Tim is magic when it comes to music!” she exclaims. He produced her latest single “Never Eva” now available on digital distribution sites worldwide.
