Beyoncé Knocked From Top Spot By Disney’s ‘Frozen’
Beyoncé self-titled visual album is no longer number one on the Billboard 200 charts. After dominating social media and the charts for the past three weeks since it’s Dec. 13 release, Beyoncé fell to no. 2 after the soundtrack for Disney’s latest animated film Frozen slid into the top spot.
According to Billboard, the Frozen soundtrack sold 165,000 compared to Beyonce’s 130,000 in the last week. Numbers are nothing to Mrs. Carter as Beyoncé has pushed 1.43 million units within its first month of release.
The buzz from Queen Bey’s recent release has yet to die down as Jay Z’s leading lady continues her worldwide tour and recently dropped a 5-part docu-series called “Self-Titled,” breaking down the most popular tracks from her LP and giving an insider’s look into the self-made momma’s work ethic, both professionally and physically.
In part 4 titled “Liberation,” Yoncé revealed why she waved her freak flag so freely on this album.
“I know finding my sensuality, getting back into my body, being proud of growing up, it was important to me that I expressed that in this music cause I know there’s so many woem tha feel the same way after giving birth,” she explained. “You can have your child and you can still have fun and still be sexy and still have dreams and still live for yourself.”
